The participants of our project came from Hungary, England, Italy and Poland.

May, 11th
Our guests arrived in Helsinki. We had a short sightseeing tour by bus in our
capital. The weather was windy and cold and it finally started snowing. The
day before the weather had been 15 degrees warmer!
May, 12th
The first school our guests visited was Ahonkylä Primary School.
May, 13th
The official meeting of our project was held in Ilomantsi, near the Russian
border.
May, 13th
After the meeting we had lunch in a Lappish hut in the Easternmost Point of
EU.
May, 14th Sunday, Mothers´ Day
We spent Mothers´ Day at Koli, the national scenery of Finland. This scenery
has inspired several famous Finnish artists, both painters and composers, including
e.g. Sibelius.
May, 15th
The first school to visit on Monday morning was Viinijärvi Primary School.
May, 15th
The pupils of Risti Primary School sang Finnish children´s songs for our guests.
May, 15th
All our four Finnish schools got lots of presents from our European partnership
schools.
May, 15th
Afternoon coffee at Käsämä Primary School. The Parents´ Council had made
delicious cakes and buns for our guests.
May, 15th
"Row, row, row my boat..."
On the last evening of the project meeting our guests rowed along the river
Taipale in Viinijärvi. The Finnish lakes and rivers and forests were a unique
experience. Our guests certainly had a lot to tell their pupils and colleagues
about our country, which none of them had visited before.
